Trainers and requirements

Apprentice: character level 5 at any alchemy trainer.
Journeyman (needed from skill 75): level 10, at the journeyman trainer in a capital city.
Expert (needed from skill 150): level 20.
Artisan (needed from skill 225): level 35. Horde: Rogvar (Swamp of Sorrows). Alliance: Kylanna Windwhisper (Feralas).
Recipe Superior Mana Potion (for 265): Ulthir (Darnassus) or Algernon (Undercity), otherwise the auction house.
Recipe Major Healing Potion (for 285): Evie Whirlbrew (Everlook, Winterspring), otherwise the auction house.

Trainers and requirements

Ranks are learned from the alchemy trainers of the old capitals (Journeyman from level 10, Expert 20, Artisan 35, Master 50, Grand Master 65). Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria alchemy can also be learned there, a trip to Pandaria is not needed.
Crystal Vial: buy from alchemy supply vendors, not at the auction house.
Specialization (from skill 475, level 75): Potion Master, Elixir Master or Transmutation Master, each with a quest at your trainer. Only one at a time.
Darkmoon Faire (every two weeks, starts Sunday, runs one week): profession quests give +5 skill.
